SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP FAQs
What is Microblading? Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow procedure that is carried out by a qualified technician using a specialist hand-tool which holds disposable microblades.
How does it work? The required pigment is deposited into the superficial dermis of the skin with the disposable microblade which allows the technician to create bespoke, crisp hair strokes which look like natural eyebrow hair.
How does it differ from semi permanent tattooing? Microblading differs from conventional semi-permanent tattooing by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a hand held micro blade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used leaving very fine and crisp hair strokes with no spilling under the skin.
Who can have Microblading? With all semi-permanent makeup procedures it is the practitioner’s responsibility to make sure that there are no contraindications to treatment. If there is a medical condition the clinic doctor will be consulted prior to treatment. REMEMBER: We have your best interests in mind.
How long does the pigmentation last? Microblading tends to last between 6-36 months and after this period of time may need a colour boost or refresh.
Does it hurt? Like all semi-permanent procedures microblading will require a topical anaesthetic which can be topped up throughout the procedure making it relatively painless.
How much does it cost? Microblading price starts at $300.00 which includes initial procedure, an after care package and a touching up after 5 weeks.

Are Semi- Permanent Cosmetic procedures really permanent? Technically, Semi-Permanent Cosmetic procedures are considered “permanent” because the color is implanted into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, fading will occur, requiring periodic maintenance, or color re-enhancement. Just like hair color, furniture located near a window, or the paint on a car, pigment implanted in the skin fades with time. The color typically lasts for about two years, but varies by client due to body chemistry, skin pigmentation and exposure to various elements. Are these procedures performed with a tattoo gun? No, we are so fortunate to have Digital machine that provides optimal results in less time. The hand piece is equipped with a patent-pending Safety Needle Cartridge, making it the first Semi-Permanent Makeup machine worldwide to virtually eliminate the possibility of cross contamination. For additional safety, when the cartridge is detached from the hand piece, the needle automatically retracts back into the cartridge preventing an accidental “stick” to the technician or client. How long does each procedure take? On average, Semi-Permanent Makeup procedures take approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on the procedure. Subsequent visits usually do not require as much time. Is it painful? Most people describe the first few minutes of these procedures as “annoying”. However, as soon as the skin has been abraded, a topical anaesthesia penetrates the dermis, eliminating most of the discomfort for most people. If you know that you are an extremely sensitive person, please discuss this with our artist and she will advise you of different methods available to help with pain management. Is it safe? All Semi-Permanent Makeup services are performed safely and securely. All equipment is pre-sterilized and disposed of in a sanitary manner. We ensure that your procedure will be completed in a clean, safe room, free from other contaminants. Are there any side effects? Generally, there is a slight amount of swelling and possibly some tenderness of the treated area. While eyebrows typically show little after effect, eyeliner and lips may show more and the swelling may last from two, to 72 hours. Additionally, be aware that during the procedure there may be some bleeding and/or bruising.
